University Activator Employability Reflection Toolkit
Commissioned by The British Universities College Sport (BUCS), KKExcel were very excited to be leading on the development of a new toolkit to help University Football Activators record their volunteering role against a framework of behaviours whilst at university.
Once populated over a period of time the toolkit will be used by students to articulate and evidence with confidence transferable employability skills. There are a number of benefits for students using the toolkit, some examples are listed below:
- Enable University Activators to succintly record achievements and volunteering experiences, which are aligned to behaviours and competencies pertinent to employers
- Benchmark the Activator's current skill base against a simple self-assessment skills audit, which can be periodcially reflected upon
- To provide proof of competency and knowledge
- A focus for the identification of future training/learning needs
- Encourage regular reflection and evidence collation, using a 'user friendly' template.
Once a draft version of the toolkit had been produced by KKExcel, in partnership with BUCS and The FA a one day conference was hosted with over 150 delegates attending from the HE sector. During the event KKExcel facilitated a number of exercises to consult on the toolkit's content and discuss challenges around implementation. Using interactive and fun training techniques a wealth of feedback was generated, which has informed an updated version of the toolkit soon to be released into Universities across England.
