Sported Internal M&E Systems Review

Being commissioned by Sported, the leading UK charity supporting sport for development in disadvantaged communities, was a privilege that KKExcel were keen to accept.

Sported’s mission is; “To provide business support and financial resources to community sports organisations, enabling them to reach and improve the lives of more disadvantaged young people than ever before.”

It was within this context that KKExcel were approached by Sported (due to our credibility within the industry) to undertake a review of the monitoring and evaluation systems used by Sported.  The primary outcome of what was a comprehensive review led to:

•  KKExcel producing a robust set of recommendations, detailing how Sported needs to change its systems to gather, interrogate and report on impact data in a way that is meaningful to its different audiences.

Other secondary outcomes achieved by KKExcel included:

• Providing Sported with internal systems that enable it to effectively illustrate its USP
• The M&E systems installed will continue to complement and assist Sported in achieving its mission and aims
• To ensure that succinct outcomes and outputs can be easily used/communicated by staff both internally and externally, simplicity was at the heart of the project
• The data collected and reviewed by Sported will now enable the organisation to operationally monitor and develop its Member services, whilst also maintaining a strategic overview of performance and impact, which can inform future priorities.

KKExcel managed this complex task in a methodical and efficient manner.  By maintaining regular communication with the client and adopting a flexible approach, we were able to guide and advise Sported in a logical way, whilst still retaining attention to the finer detail throughout, ensuring that a comprehensive review was undertaken at all stages of the project.
