Sports Web Portal in London - Feasibility Study

The challenge faced by Sport England and its partners across London to raise participation rates by 1% year on year is a significant undertaking. The recent results from the "Active People" survey indicate there is still a lot of work to be done. The lack of accessible, useful and up to date information was noted as a key factor preventing people from participating in sport/physical activity.

As a result KKExcel were asked to undertake a feasibility study to identify the viability of a London based sports web portal which would enable anyone across London Region to search on-line for sport/physical activity opportunities in their local area.

The feasibility study was extremely comprehensive covering the following key areas:

•     Consultation with partners and potential end users
•     Functionality options appraisal
•     Review of existing sites/potential partner alliances
•     Marketing and PR potential
•     Legal and data protection considerations
•     Economic viability
